Gold Plated Reale/Oblong Coin- Atocha Shipwreck Coins (Pendant Only)

Our Gold Plated Reale/Oblong Coin Pendant, is an elegant piece measuring 1 1/4″ wide by 1 1/2″ high (including the bale). This distinctive pendant is encased in a sterling silver bezel, expertly designed to protect and highlight its historic charm. The coin features a cross design with detailed figures visible in the cross quadrants, and a beautifully detailed shield on the reverse. The sterling silver chain is sold separately.

Each pendant comes with a stamped certificate of authenticity and velvet pouch for safe keeping.

Historical Significance: This pendant is inspired by coins from the Nuestra Señora de Atocha, a Spanish galleon lost in 1622 off the Florida Keys. The ship, which was caught in a fierce hurricane, was carrying over 160,000 precious “pieces of eight” among its treasures. When the wreck was discovered, it revealed a trove of historic coins. Our collection features high-quality recast Atocha coins, created with a portion of the silver recovered from the sunken ship.  Each pendant represents a unique piece of history and will satisfy the treasure hunter in all of us.
